Bicycles are available on request for scenic countryside rides. Just 2.5 km from Selci’s center and 60 km from Rome, the home is perfectly placed for exploring Lazio’s cultural gems. Visit nearby Viterbo, Orvieto, or the medieval towns of Roccantica and Poggio Catino. Nature lovers can hike Monte Tancia or stroll through the Nazzano Tevere-Farfa Nature Reserve. For history buffs, the Soratte Bunker and Farfa Abbey offer fascinating insights into the region’s past2. The Belvedere restaurant in Forano 3 km away, you can enjoy delicious regional cuisine. The restaurant and holiday house has the same owner. The restaurant also has free wifi. This is the best place for a relaxing holiday in the countryside in a very quiet area and for visiting beautiful and interesting nearby places. Within a radius of less than 100 km you can discover The Eternal City of Rome, the Roman sea and its beaches, the ancient Abbey of Farfa, the highlight of the area, with its Museum and a magnificent library, which contains more than 60.000 volumes and original manuscripts, including one of the first books ever printed, or visit the biggest olive tree in Europe more than 2000 years old in Canneto, or you can drive to Marmore to admire the “Cascate delle Marmore”, the highest waterfalls in Europe. Not very far, in the Tuscia district, discover Etruscan necropolis, tombs, Roman amphitheatres and many places of interest, such as Civita Castellana, Tuscania and Viterbo. This territory from where the ancient Romans took their brides in the legendary: ”Rape of the Sabine women”, is still authentic and untouched by mass tourism. Here you will experience history: did you know that the first kings of Ancient Rome where originally from the Sabina? In the Summer you can experience a refreshing and unique swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Farfa river. The Sabina gives you a unique feeling of being in a historic place in time-gone-by. Rome is easy to reach via the highway in an hour or even conveniently by train (the train station of Gavignano, 5 km, with departures for Rome every 30 minutes). We also have a price list available for a private transfer service with personal driver, which you can request on site. At the swimming pool 12 x 6 m (depth 1,40m with Roman scale) in the lower area of the estate and in the midst of nature and olive trees with beautiful panoramic views, there are sun beds, umbrellas and an outdoor shower at disposal for all guests.
