On the coast to the east of Agrigento about 45 km away is Licata, an important commercial port and an ideal destination for those in search of clean sea, beautiful scenery, art, history, fragrances and Mediterranean flavours. This is a land of ancient civilisation, with a multi-millennial evolutionary path documented by archaeological finds that can be traced back over an extended period of time, from the Palaeolithic to the Hellenistic-Roman period. Licata offers tourists the opportunity to choose routes of cultural, artistic and leisure interest. Starting from its historical centre, rich in aristocratic palaces, churches, monuments, alleys and suggestive corners, it is then suggested not to miss the charm of its surroundings. The territory of Licata has about 20 km of very heterogeneous coastline, characterised by the alternation of wide sandy beaches to the east of the city and high cliffs, inlets, promontories, pebble beaches and sandy stretches to the west. A typicality that makes it possible to satisfy the most diverse and particular needs of regular bathers and tourists. A landscape of rare and singular beauty that, together with the crystal-clear sea, clean air and enchanting panoramic views, make Licata a very interesting tourist hub.
