The Old Parlour is a spacious, beautifully presented barn conversion ideal for a perfect getaway for families and friends, set in an idyllic rural location in Somerset. In the heart of the house an impressive light and airy open plan kitchen/dining and family room, perfect for gatherings with loved ones. Step out through the double doors leading to the sun terrace where you can enjoy the peaceful countryside views and beyond.

Sleep 10 across five bedrooms, three with ensuite and an additional family bathroom. With two spacious super king bedrooms, one king size and a twin. Plus further bunk bed trundle room, (which can be used to sleep 11 on request, but only suitable for children under the age of 11) that also has additional fixed cot for a young child. Relax of an evening and cosy up next to the wood burner in the fabulous living room, with smart TV and Wi-Fi, all while the kids are entertained in the games/family room! Guests also have use of a hot tub, ample outdoor space, and terraces at the front and rear of the house to enjoy alfresco dining and entertaining areas. The property itself backs onto the Somerset Wildlife reserve, which is great for walking, bird watching, deer-spotting and connecting with Mother Nature. It’s truly stunning!

The kitchen is fully equipped with amenities to cook up a storm during your stay with breakfast bar and large dining table. The property benefits from underfloor heating which can be zoned throughout the house. There is also a utility room and a cloakroom.

The Old Parlour is located on the edge of the village of Oakhill to the south of the city of Bath. A fantastic local community and characterful village, with various pubs The Oakhill Inn and The Mendip Inn. Further afield the market town of Shepton Mallet is nestled at the gateway to the Mendip Hills, an area of outstanding beauty. You will find a range of independent shops, restaurants, local cafes and market stalls. Or why not visit the Roman city of Bath, an elegant traditional area, full of classic Georgian architecture and heritage buildings, natural thermal hot springs and an abundant array of shops and retailers.

For a fun day out with the family, you are only 30 mins from Longleat Safari Park, home to the famous Longleat Lions and safari drive through. Situated 20 minutes from Hauser & Wirth in Bruton which showcases an exhibition of artist residencies, along with Glastonbury just a short drive gives plenty to explore in the local area.

With ample parking at the Old Parlour, it’s a fantastic home from home to stay and unwind with children, grandparents and those of any age!

Please be aware there is deep pond located in the garden, and parental supervision is always required. Fireworks are not permitted at the property due to neighbouring livestock.

This property is ideal for family gatherings but not for stag and hen party style groups.
