The South Golf Course (18 holes) has a length of 6,112 meters and a par of 71 strokes, the North Golf Course (18 holes) has a length of 5,524 meters and a par of 72 strokes. Maspalomas is the oldest seaside resort on the south coast of Gran Canaria and is known for its huge dunes, which are six kilometers long and one to two kilometers wide. The 68 meter tall El Faro lighthouse, built in 1889, towers proudly in the air. At the lighthouse is an oasis called "La Charca" where many waterfowl breed.
