Holiday apartment - 6 persons - Via Cristoforo Colombo - Marina Di Caronia - 98072 - Marina Di Caronia Me

First of all I’d like to say that the couple who rent the place are extremely nice and they try to help as much as they can. The view from the balcony of the apartment is spectacular.However, whoever expects to find a sandy beach like shown in the pictures that advertise the apartment will be disappointed. The beach is full of pebbles and small round rocks and it is not easy to go for a swim without bathing shoes.Furthermore,, the apartment lacks coziness. There are lamps without lampshades on the ceiling, the lightbulbs throw a bright white and cold light into the rooms, the refrigerator and freezer doors are quite difficult to open and to close properly. There’s not much stuff to cook with, no decent cutting knives, no ladle, no spatula no spaghetti tongs (!) and no wineglasses (!) the mattresses of the beds need to be changed. They felt more like hammocks.Me and my wife did not mind, because we are able to improvise a lot. But from the pictures in the advertisement we expected more.We still enjoyed our stay tremendously, because Sicily is a wonderful place and Marina de Caronia is also very clean and beautiful. And people like to party. Sometimes that was quite noisy at night. But early mornings with wonderful sunrises were a wonderful compensation for that.
