Description
Built and fitted out by its owner in an old renovated traditional farmhouse, the gîte is made with noble materials (untreated wood, stone) and natural materials (wood wool, fermacell (gypsum and cellulose)) to create a healthy environment. This is one of the reasons why we ask tenants not to smoke inside. Beams, brushed wood, lime plaster and molasses (local stone) give this cosy flat an exceptional character.
The flat sleeps 4 people (2 air-conditioned bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and toilets, bed linen provided at no extra charge), no pets allowed.
Completely independent with balcony, lawn and private parking. 60m² on 2 levels - 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom - underfloor heating, wood-burning stove, air-conditioning - many features.
Ideally situated between lakes and mountains, the gîte is close to many hiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing trails in winter (we lend you snowshoes, poles and sledges), as well as all forms of skiing. The many rivers offer a multitude of magical spots for romantic walkers and experienced fishermen. The owners, who are keen hikers, will be able to show you the most beautiful walks adapted to your level. Numerous books, guides, maps and tourist brochures are available.
The village
* Nestling at the foot of the Montagne des Princes and the Gros Foug, on the banks of the Fier and Morge rivers, Val de Fier is situated in the Albanais, a region of crops and livestock.
* On one side, after the impressive defile of the Val, you can see the Jura mountains. To the south are the peaks of the Bauges, Aravis and Mont Blanc.
* This small, quiet, pastoral village, on the route to Santiago de Compostela, is ideally situated at the crossroads of a number of centres of interest:
- Annecy and its lake are 20 km away.
- Aix les Bains and Lac du Bourget are also within easy reach.
- Geneva and Lake Geneva are 50 km away.
- The motorway takes you quickly to Chamonix (and Italy via the Mont Blanc tunnel).
- Many mountain ranges are within easy reach: the Bauges, Aravis, Jura and Chartreuse are the closest, as are Beaufortain, Maurienne, Tarentaise, Mont Blanc and Chablais.
