Bayeux is a historic town best known for its beautiful cathedral, and of course the famous Bayeux tapestry. This tapestry, which is over 70 meters long, depicts the Battle of Hastings in 1066, in which William the Conqueror conquered England. The tapestry is more than 900 years old and is considered one of the most important works of art from the Middle Ages. In addition to the tapestry and the cathedral, there are other attractions in Bayeux, such as the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy, which highlights the history of World War II in Normandy.
